The Equilibar ZF series has the unique ability to hold back pressure constant to the true zero-flow point, with no hysteresis or dead band as flow resumes. Unlike other Equilibar BPR’s, it uses a special rubber seal.
ZF regulators come in 1/16″ and 1/8″ port sizes.
The ZF was created in response to the demanding requirements of our customers in the oil and gas industry, specifically those doing reservoir core analysis research. Core analysis applications often involve holding pressure with no flow for long periods of time before flow begins. When flow begins, it is desired to retain the exact same pressure as the zero flow condition.
Traditional spring-loaded regulators have a strong closing bias which results in a large differential pressure between flowing and static conditions. This is often referred to as “cracking pressure” or “opening bias”. The Equilibar ZF series back pressure regulator utilizes a patented floating O-ring hub which the diaphragm seals directly against for seamless shut off.
