Diane Jacober, mechanical engineer

Diane Jacober brings a broad base of experience to her job as Technical Content Creator and Mechanical Engineer. She earned bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Engineering from Dartmouth College and has worked as a process engineer and project engineer for several companies, including DuPont.

Diane’s graduate degree focused on mechanical/biomedical engineering and her research study was the Tribiological Behavior of Ultra High Molecular Weight Polyethylene against Titanium and Cobalt-Chrome Alloys, materials then used in artificial hip and knee implants. The study was an NSF funded project and the work was published in WEAR Magazine.

She says the best part of working at Equilibar is learning something new every day. “I enjoy the variety of work involved in marketing where I can use my engineering background to research new applications for our products and my creative side to write and design print and digital materials for potential clients. My goals are to reach new clients by understanding their needs and creating website content to draw interest.”

Diane also provides application engineering for the team to ensure that clients’ needs are met as quickly as possible. Her areas of interest include flow chemistry and membrane separation.

Originally from Vermont, Diane has lived in India and France. She has studied French in depth and has a close affinity to French culture. “I chose to go to college at Dartmouth because it was the perfect place to be able to study French as well as engineering. My father’s family is French Canadian and he grew up speaking French at home. There were no other places where I could study both engineering and French passionately.”

She and her family like to hike, explore mountain swimming holes and travel to new places. She is involved in a variety of community non-profits benefiting children and families.
