New Brochure on FD Series of Sanitary BPRs for BioPharma

  • Equilibar brochure for sanitary bpr

Equilibar’s FD Series of sanitary back pressure regulators features an innovative dome-loaded technology to meet the most demanding pressure control challenges in the BioPharma industry.

The FD Series offers the following specific advantages for sanitary applications:

  • Easily automated with manual or electronic control
  • Responds in milliseconds to accurately maintain pressure
  • USP Class VI wetted materials
  • Crevice free / drainable design
  • Rebuilds in minutes
  • Compact actuation

For more information, we invite you to review our new FD Series Brochure, which provides performance comparisons, options, schematics, and more.

All of Equilibar’s back pressure regulators feature patented technology based on a dome-loaded, multiple orifice design that is capable of holding pressure stable across incredibly wide flow rate ranges. Unlike traditional spring-loaded regulators and valves, Equilibar’s unique design has only one moving part–the wetted diaphragm–which seals directly across the polished array of orifices.

Equilibar’s FD Series also includes options for angled design and tube stubs for welding. Sanitary Tri-Clamp end fittings are standard. Units are rated up to 150 psig (10 bar) and can withstand the high temperatures of Steam-In-Place at 135C.

The valve seats are inherently crevice-free and can be flushed with clean-in-place solution, steam or water. They are made of electro-polished SS316L and are also available in Hastelloy C276. USP Class VI EPDM or PTFE diaphragms are typically used in BioPharma applications.

The FD Series is being successfully deployed in US BioPharma plants to control process liquids in demanding applications, such as wide low-to-high flow ranges and low set-point pressures. In one specific application, the 1” FDO8 model is used downstream of a Coriolis flow meter to hold the discharge pressure to 3 psig in order to inhibit bubble generation inside the sensitive instrument.

The Equilibar team is back at work after Hurricane Helene

We’re happy to report that the Equilibar team is fully back at work this week following Hurricane Helene. While Helene wreaked havoc across the Western North Carolina mountains, we feel extremely lucky that all of our team members and their families are safe and our facilities had only minor issues. Once we could return to Read More
