Julie Detmering, Equilibar’s customer service manager, has graduated from the Export Leadership Academy, a 10-month training course offered by the Department of Commerce’s U.S. Commercial Service. We are extremely proud of Julie’s achievement, which will have multiple benefits for our clients and partners all over the world.

The purpose of the Export Leadership Academy is to empower companies such as Equilbiar to develop, grow and manage international sales in the best way possible.

“I’ve learned so much from this course,” Julie said. “It’s given me skills and tools that will help make exporting a flawless process. I’ve learned how to properly complete documentation, how to globalize our website and marketing materials, and where to go for help when I need it.”

The 2017 graduates are the Academy’s inaugural class. The graduates included six participants from five companies in North and South Carolina who were recognized on November 14, 2017, in a ceremony at the South Carolina Department of Commerce.

“The Export Leadership Academy affords companies the opportunity to experience real-world scenarios while also providing direct access to experts that will assist with the design and implementation of their export plan,” said Dorette Coetsee, program director. “We wanted to provide a more stimulating curriculum for companies that have an earnest desire to increase their international presence.”

Requirements for graduation included performing a wide variety of exporting related items, including a company assessment using the International Expansion Blueprint. The Blueprint is designed to provide understanding about the importance of an international web presence, financial considerations and export compliance.

Equilibar has emphasized global relationships and international partnerships since its beginning more than ten years ago. We work with researchers and scientists around the world, often on projects that are global in scope, and we are committed to making our international business run smoothly for everyone involved. Participating in the Expert Leadership Academy is one of the ways we continue to work toward this goal.

Congratulations, Julie! We appreciate your hard work.
