Equilibar FDO8 Sanitary Back Pressure Regulator and Flow Control Valve

The Equilibar® FDO8 is a sanitary back pressure regulator and control valve with 1″ ASME Tri-Clamp ports. With a Flow Coefficient (Cv) between 1E-5 to 8.0, the FDO8 is ideal for liquid flow rates between 0.1 and 50 gallons/minute.

FD Series Sanitary Valves

The FD Series Sanitary regulators are specifically designed for use in biopharma, food, and other applications where there are surface finish, clean-in-place, drainability, or USP class VI material requirements. They can be used to regulate back pressure or be set up for closed loop automated flow control.

Like the other Equilibar regulators, the FD Series features ultra sensitive diaphragm-operated back pressure technology capable of controlling pressure with high precision over a wide range of flow rates. The pilot-controlled, dome-loaded design will control the system pressure in a precise 1 to 1 relationship with the pressure applied to the dome. This dome pilot pressure may be provided by a manually adjustable spring loaded regulator or by an electronic pressure regulator for accurate computer control.

The flexible membrane diaphragm is the only moving part. This membrane instantly responds to changes in the system flow rate to accurately maintain the pressure at the desired setpoint. The FD series is the most accurate and highest resolution sanitary back pressure regulator on the market. The simple design allows for extremely fast disassembly and field repair using low cost rebuild kits. It’s compact form facilitates a simple process layout.

To use an FD Sanitary valve for automated flow control, it is set up in a PID control loop with a precision electro-pneumatic pilot regulator and a responsive flow meter. The FD sanitary closed loop flow control will provide accuracy across a wide range of flow which is especially beneficial in chromatography, buffer delivery, and WFI point of use.
